Project Bonanza: Expanding Fiber Internet in Bonanza, Hildebrand & Rural Klamath County

In a major step forward for rural connectivity, Stimulus Technologies of Oregon, LLC has been awarded $1,212,730 through the Oregon Broadband Office’s Broadband Deployment Program, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act’s Capital Projects Fund (ARPA CPF).

This initiative—known as Project Bonanza—will build nearly 19 miles of new high-speed fiber internet across Klamath County, connecting 168 homes and small businesses that have long been underserved by traditional providers.

Closing the Digital Divide in Klamath County

For too long, rural communities like Bonanza, Hildebrand, and surrounding areas have struggled with slow, unreliable internet. Project Bonanza is changing that.

✔️ 19 miles of new fiber lines
✔️168 homes and businesses connected
✔️ More than 20 homes in Bonanza proper gaining broadband access

Many small towns didn’t meet the eligibility requirements for this program, which makes Bonanza’s inclusion a major achievement—and a reflection of how great the need is for dependable, affordable rural internet.

What Reliable Fiber Internet Means for Local Families

High-speed fiber internet isn’t just about faster streaming—it’s about improving lives. With Project Bonanza, residents can look forward to:

  • Remote work without interruptions — no more dropped Zoom calls or slow uploads.
  • Better online education — smooth streaming for students and teachers.
  • Telehealth access — virtual doctor visits without frustration.
  • Entertainment and gaming — seamless streaming and low-latency connections.

At Stimulus Broadband, we believe reliable high-speed internet is a basic necessity, not a luxury. This project helps ensure that rural families and businesses can stay connected, productive, and competitive in a digital world.

Empowering Local Businesses

For small businesses, reliable internet is the backbone of daily operations. Project Bonanza gives local entrepreneurs, farmers, and professionals:

  • Symmetrical upload/download speeds for fast file transfers
  • High reliability to prevent costly downtime
  • Scalable service options as their businesses grow

This investment will strengthen local economies, encourage innovation, and allow small business owners to thrive—right here in Klamath County.

A Word from Our CEO

“By deploying nearly 19 miles of fiber to Bonanza, we’re ensuring that 168 homes in this rural community have access to fast, reliable internet for work, education, healthcare, and communication,” said Nathan Whittacre, CEO of Stimulus Technologies. “This project will give Bonanza residents the same level of connectivity that people in major cities take for granted, opening the door to economic growth, remote work opportunities, and improved quality of life.”

With support from the Oregon Broadband Office, Stimulus Technologies will complete Project Bonanza by September 30, 2026. When finished, this investment won’t just connect homes—it will connect people to opportunity, empower students, and strengthen Klamath County’s digital future for generations to come.
